The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports Football Championship was inaugurated at GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, by Dr. S.S. Deol, Principal, and Dr. H.S. Brar, Registrar. The 3-days long championship is being hosted under the banner of North Zone-1. The teams from Ludhiana, Chandigarh and Dehradun are participating in this championship. The team from GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, is representing the Ludhiana city. In his address Chief Guest Dr. S.S. Deol, welcomed the visiting players and encouraged them to play with the spirit of sportsmanship. Prof. Tejinder Singh, Head P.G. Department of Physical Education, informed that all the matches in this tournament will be league matches and the final match shall be played on 29th November 2018. On the first day of the Championship, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, footballers beat SGGS College, Sector -26, Chandigarh, by 2-1 in the men's category. In the women's category, Guru Harkrishan Public School, Sangrur, won the match against Govt. Sen. Sec. School, Sector-22, Chandigarh, football team by 4-1.
